This is such a thoughtful piece and these thoughts are what so many people have on their minds. I have similar thoughts in regards to having a second child. In the midst of all the chaos and turmoil, it seems irresponsible and selfish. But at the same time, the little one that I have brings me such joy, and I have so much hope for this generation of children. Every time I read him a book about feminism or feelings, or teach him about recycling, I know that I’m raising a good human who will do good things for the world.

If you’re even contemplating these thoughts, chances are, if you choose to have a child, you will teach them everything they need to know to make this world a better place.
